Svella Plc can confirm that Avidrail, one of its subsidiaries, has completed the first stage of its investment into Emeg Group Limited, a Chesterfield-based business specialising in delivering rail depot and facilities solutions and M&E engineering services since 1997.

The deal secures a business-as-usual approach for Emeg Group, with Svella Plc looking forward to supporting employees, customers and suppliers to unlock the potential within the business and deliver a strategy of long-term, collaborative and sustainable growth.

The team at Avidrail has extensive rail industry experience covering more than 100 years, from feasibility, design and construction through to delivery and close-out. Its capabilities include civil engineering, rail infrastructure and groundworks.

Avidrail and Emeg Group will work in close collaboration, leveraging the collective and complementary expertise across both businesses, enabling Emeg to deliver a full, in-house turnkey solution. With expanded in-house capabilities and an enhanced customer offering, Emeg will secure and deliver a greater range of projects underpinned by access to additional commercial and revenue generating opportunities.

Svella Plc has a wealth of experience in developing businesses with significant growth potential, driven by operational improvement, an unwavering focus on financial performance, hands-on investment and proactive management.

It has extensive expertise and a successful track record of excelling across industry sectors which are aligned to, and complement, those in which Emeg operates, helping unlock exciting growth opportunities.

Bolstered by Svella’s current operational network, Emeg will extend its geographical footprint across the north of England, Southern Scotland and the Midlands. Investment will help provide crucial working capital for future growth, asset purchases, acquisitions and to invest in people and skills to help drive its growth strategy.

Andrew Tinkler, Svella Plc chairman, said: “We are pleased to have completed the first stage of our Emeg Group investment as planned and look forward to supporting the business in delivering a sustainable growth strategy. Supported by and working collaboratively with Avidrail, Emeg Group will expand its in-house capabilities and offer a full, in-house turnkey solution – generating value for customers and adding complementary expertise to the business.

“Svella’s successful strategy is based on providing hands-on investment and supporting the management team to unlock the growth potential in the business, helping deliver operational improvement and value for all stakeholders.”

Richard Simmonite, Emeg Group chairman, said: “The investment from Avidrail marks a significant milestone for Emeg, laying the foundation for a vibrant and secure future for both the business and its dedicated workforce.

“The support from Avidrail and Svella will not only reinforce Emeg’s strong reputation for delivering outstanding service but also create new opportunities to expand its in-house capabilities and customer proposition.

“Emeg will benefit from a strategy focused on long-term, sustainable growth and innovation, combined with continued collaboration with its valued supply chain partners, whose contributions remain integral to Emeg’s future development and success."
