Job title: Office Manager and Accounts Assistant – Maternity Cover (July-December 2023)

Reporting to: Group Accountant

Location: Carlisle, Cumbria

Job summary: 

Svella Plc is an investment and acquisition vehicle set up to raise funds and acquire controlling interests in underperforming businesses and assets.  

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic all-rounder to join our small dynamic team based at Carlisle. Responsibility for office management and assisting the Group Accountant, as well as working closely with the Svella Plc Chairman on related projects.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Smooth running of the office (dealing with mail/calls, organising office supplies, liaising with cleaner/landlord, greeting visitors, running errands etc)

  • Providing administrative support to colleagues including the Directors 

  • Corporate hospitality

  • Accounting duties including payment of PAYE/VAT/supplier/salary/pension, expenses, invoicing.

  • Ad-hoc duties to meet the needs of the business and the Chairman.

Skills, qualifications and experience required:

  • Office and administration experience

  • Accounts experience

  • A solution-driven multi-tasker

  • Organised and trustworthy 

  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage own time and prioritise to meet deadlines

  • Must be proficient with IT and Microsoft 365, specifically Excel

  • Xero accounting software experience is preferable

  • Good grasp of office etiquette and attention to details

  • Driving license.

Salary and benefits
